kinetic typography

i’m quite excited with this new module, mainly so i can get into some kinetic (or motion) typography. i saw some of this stuff quite i while ago and loved it, and even blogged about it over at my old blog here, so i thought it would only be fair to start with some.

who’s on first?

a very funny video, very different to the standard film dub-over ones. this video deals with conversational elements such as pace, emphasis, confusion and volume very well. for this i think it is very well done and has considered many things and translated them so well with the typography and motion, that if feels as if you could watch it with the sound off and still get a similar feel to that of with the audio.

courtTV red

i’m not too sure with the deets on this one, but it’s clear that it’s for some sort of crime show. very effective use of colour and flashing light, coupled with very simplistic, almost schematic illustrations make this a great fit for the context of the text.

and to finish quite a video explaining type, but using kinetic typography too. very beautifully done, a must watch, especially for a type geek. .type tastes nice. yehh it does.
